UAE Launches Dh100 Million Fund to Empower Non-Profit Sector and Drive Job Creation
The United Arab Emirates has announced a major initiative to strengthen its non-profit sector with the launch of a Dh100 million fund , aimed at empowering organisations to play a more active role in national development and economic contribution. This move reflects the UAE’s growing focus on building a sustainable and impact-driven third sector that supports both social well-being and job creation.
The fund was introduced by H.E. Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment , who emphasized the importance of non-profit organisations as strategic partners in the country’s development journey. With over 800 registered non-profit organisations operating across the UAE, the initiative is expected to enhance their capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and create thousands of employment opportunities in the coming years.
One of the key challenges highlighted in the sector has been the lack of structured systems to measure and link social impact with outcomes. This new fund aims to address that gap by encouraging organisations to adopt a more performance-driven and measurable approach . By doing so, the UAE is not only supporting social initiatives but also strengthening the economic relevance of non-profit entities.
